Who Will Go?
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20
“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” Isaiah 6:8
That is the call my daughter, Nicole and her husband Tony heard and answered.
Life is funny isn’t it? It’s funny how God changes our well-laid plans. In 2013, Nicole went to Hillsong International Leadership College in Australia to study in their Worship Leadership Stream. After spending her teen years leading worship at our local church, she knew she wanted to do that as a career. However, during her years at Hillsong and dating her now husband, who was still back in the States, something began to shift for Nicole. At Hillsong, she received training in leading organizations, international missions and pastoral care. She also led a program called “Shine” which is focused on helping women realize their value and purpose in life. It was through all this that she began to realize that becoming a missionary was the call. Nicole graduated from Hillsong in 2016 with an Advanced Diploma in Ministry. This training has been and will continue to be very beneficial for her as a missionary. In the meantime, Tony finished college, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in English and spent his time working with a campus ministry there and feeling the conviction to reach the unreached.
After Australia, they moved back home and began training for their specific call full-swing! A trip to Greece to work with refugees there led to meeting people from Missions Resource Network (MRN) and they knew it was a match God had designed. They partnered with (MRN) over a year ago and are now finishing their training with them in Texas. In late spring, they’re planning to move overseas to their prospected country with an initiative with MRN called the Mediterranean Rim Initiative (Southern Europe and Northern Africa) where they will share the love of Christ to the multitude of hurting souls there. After years of preparation and training, they’re almost ready!
Thank you for letting me share their story with you! And thank you in advance for your prayers and support! And always be ready for God to shift your plans!
